It’s hardly possible to imagine modern life without the Internet. It exists. Everywhere: at home, at workplace, in public transport, basically, in any public place. But not so many people think about how the Internet works and what’s the nature and impact of online communication. Paoline Kolozaridi, Internet-researcher, sociologist, Internet and Society club founder and professor of High School of Economics, spend all her life researching the Internet. Here is her talk “Ubiquitous Internet: what’s the difference between dream and reality” at TEDxNevaRiver. Сo-founder and coordinator of the club of fans of the Internet and society. The club is an informal association of researchers who are engaged in the Internet. Academic scientists, artists, journalists, students, IT specialists and activists take part in the work of the club. For three years the club has been holding seminars, conferences, organizing translations of English-language articles, books, study programs on Internet research, and conducting research itself.
Pauline is published in various publications, for example, recently you can read articles in the Republic or scientific journals (Logos, Monitoring of public opinion)
She was an invited researcher at King's College London, Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) Vienna, University of Bremen.
