When you hear the name Jesus or think about him, what are your reactions? How we react dramatically affects our relationship with God, how we relate to others, how we make decisions, and how we face the good and bad in life. 3. In the four Gospels, many varied reactions to Jesus are described. Some include: A. Fear. (Mark 4:35-41). B. Trying to hide the relationship. (John 3:1-21). C. Denial. (Mark 14:66-71). D. Not caring what others think. (Luke 19:1-9). E. I have other priorities. (Luke 9:57-62). F. Money concerns. (Luke 18:18-30). G. Anger. (Luke 4:14-30). H. Radical trust. (Luke 7:1-10), (Mark 1:40-45). I. Needing proof. (John 20:24-29). J. He is gone and buried. (John 20:19). K. Willing to sacrifice everything. (Luke 5:27-32). L. Grateful. (Luke 17:11-19). M. Wondering who he is. (Luke 8:25). N. Do anything to connect with him. (Mark 2:1-12). O. He shows up to late to do anything. (John 11:1-44). P. Bodily feeling his presence. (Luke 24:32). Q. Worship. (Matthew 28:9). 4. How Jesus’ family reacted one day. A. They said, “He is crazy.” B. See Bishop Curry “We Need Some Crazy Christians.” 5. What to Take Away A. Review this GPS or other Gospel stories. B. Where is your heart with Jesus? How do you react to Him? Why? How do those reactions affect you? How do they enhance or diminish your faith journey? C. Pray that God will use this exercise to deepen your relationship with him and that he will lead you to more ways of being faithful and loving. D. Jesus loves, forgives, and accepts you no matter what. He will meet you where you are now.
